Argentina Spanish

Autopista: Multi-lane interstate or highway.

Boina: Spanish word for “beret”.  The gaucho custom of wearing a boina is rooted in their Basque ancestry.

Empanada: Stuffed pastry filled with chicken or beef, spices (paprika, cumin), egg, olive, raisins.  Every region in Argentina has its custom and recipe for empanada making. 

Quincho: Indoor/outdoor roomor patio used for hosting guests.
